I am an assistant professor at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

I received my PhD from the Berkeley math department, working with Bernd Sturmfels. I was an NSF postdoc and a Gibbs Assistant Professor at Yale from 2011 to 2014. My CV is available.

I am interested in combinatorial aspects of algebraic geometry, especially tropical geometry. I also have a side interest in applications of mathematics to computational biology.
