Robert Daverman obtained his Bachelor’s degree at Calvin College and his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin. Except for short visits elsewhere he spent his entire working career of 40+ years at the University of Tennessee. While there, he served as Secretary of the American Mathematical Society from 1999 through 2012 and as Interim Department Head 2003-2006. He has published more than 100 papers, has written two books and has co-edited two others. He and his wife, Lana, who is a UT graduate, have two children and five grandchildren.
