Text Book: Calculus (third edition), by Jon Rogawski and Colin Adams.

Course Description:
This course is a continuation of Calculus II (Math 142). The main topics of this class include solid analytic geometry, partial differentiation, multiple integration, and selected topics in vector calculus. The prerequisites is Math 142 or Math148.

Class: MWF 9:05-9:55 a.m. (Daughtery Engineering 501); R 8:35-9:25 a.m. (HSS 120)

Grading: Final Exam 30%; Midterm 30%; Quiz 40%

Letters will be assigned as follows: A:90-100, B:80-89, C:65-79, D:50-64, E:49 or below.

Test Schedule:

• First test: Friday, February 1.
• Second test: Friday, March 1.
• Third test: Friday, April 5.
• Final Exam: 10:15a.m.–12:15p.m., Wednesday, May 1.

All exams will take place in the classroom for MWF class.

Quiz and homework

The quiz will be given on Friday with a few exceptions due to the reasons such as holidays and exams. Notice that the quiz contributes 40% to your total score. Homework will be assigned during each section but will not be collected. Homework assignments provide practice, help fix ideas introduced in class or in text, and constitute a partial guide as to what to expect on Quizzes and Tests.

Tests:
Three 50 minute midterm tests will take place scheduled as above. A request for make-up test or exam will be proceeded with restrictive standard. Except for some special circumstances, such request has to be properly documented and to be received early enough for consideration.

Final:
The final examination will take place scheduled as above. This will be a comprehensive examination covering the entire semester. Failure to take the final examination without permit results in an automatic grade of F in the course. Check your schedule to see if there is any conflict.
