Welcome to my Home Page. I am a Professor of Mathematics in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tennessee. I was born and grew up in Eutin, a small town in northern Germany. My college years I spent in nearby Kiel, where I studied mathematics at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität. I received my Ph.D. from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
