COURSE DESCRIPTION:

For students not planning to major in the physical sciences, engineering, mathematics or computer science. Exponential and logarithmic functions, interest and annuities, linear systems and matrices, optimization.

ADVISEMENTS:

* Check e-mail REGULARLY (preferably morning and night).
* Attend all class meetings.
* Bring in-class problem set (in lieu of a textbook), WA homework, and your calculator to each lecture.
* Do all in-class problem sets and homework / do not get behind.
* Re-do practice problems as necessary.
* Form a study group.
* Visit the MTC (Ayres Hall G012A) for free tutoring! See their web site for hours.
* Feel free to set up an appointment with me outside of class, but only after you have exhausted all actions mentioned above.
* Hire a tutor. The Math Office (Ayres Hall 227) has a list of available tutors.
