ECE599 Special Topics: Biomedical process control
This special Topics course covered biomedical applications of process control outlined in the journal articles "A tutorial on biomedical process control" by Frank Doyle, et al. (Journal of Process Control 17 (2007) pg. 571-594) and "Using Nonlinear Model Predictive Control to Find Optimal Therapeutic Strategies to Modulate Inflammation." by Judy Day, et al. (Mathematical Biosciences and Engineering 7 (2010) pg. 739-763). The course content focused on the development of the mathematical models of biomedical processes and the model predictive control (MPC) techniques used to control them.
Students were evaluated on in-class participation and a final project.
