Math 568 Web Page Spring 07
The text is O’Neill’s Semi-Riemannian Geometry.
Grade information: Grades
will be based on homework (70%) and a take-home final. The grading scale is
80-100: A, 60-79: B, 40-59: C, 20-39: D.
Collaboration Policy:
Students may work with one another on homework, but all collaboration or help
received from other students, faculty, or books, must be acknowledged in
writing on each homework assignment. Students are permitted to use the course
text during the final, but notes and consultation with other people or sources
is not permitted while taking the final.
Comments, hints, etc.: ***In #2 you do not need to consider the
non-Riemannian case and you do not need to give an example of a locally
symmetric space that is not symmetric but has universal cover that is
symmetric. All of the (complete) locally symmetric spaces we have encountered
in this course are symmetric.
