Math 241 - Final Exam
Tuesday, May 11th, 2:45-4:45, Ayres 314
Basic Information
- The final is comprehensive; it covers Chapter 9 - Chapter 13.
- It will consist of about 15 questions, with about 3 questions from
each chapter. There may be extra emphasis on Chapter 13 and less emphasis
on Chapter 9.
- It will focus on the main ideas of each chapter.
- Most of the problems will be based on (1) previous exams, (2) quizzes and
(3) homework.
- Any problem-type assigned as homework is fair-game for the exam.
Preparation Strategy
- Predict what the exam will cover: review previous exams and
chapters and determine what the main 3 or 4 topics or techniques are.
Read the Chapter summaries.
- Redo previous exams. Work additional problems in areas of
weakness or concern.
- Go over the Chapter Review for each chapter. Pick several problems
for a mock-final.
- Review all the quizzes and homework to double-check that you have
all the major ideas down.
- Work through practic problems.
- If you have questions, ask someone (Dr. Collins, classmates, tutor,
etc.)
- Study hard before the exam, but rest the night before.
- Schedule your departure from campus well after the exam to
remove time pressure.
