Undergraduate Reading Room

UT math majors, a close-knit group, get to know each other in small upper division math courses.  This begins with Math 300 (Introduction to Abstract Math), which is normally taken late in their sophomore year.  To foster camaraderie among our majors, we have set aside a special room for math majors called the "Undergraduate Reading Room".  This space, located in Ayres Hall near the main math office, is decorated in a comfortable "private club" style with comfortable chairs and reference material in book shelves.  The Reading Room has become the place for math majors to study or relax between classes, and to compare solutions to recent assignments in common classes.  The Reading Room is also near professor offices so that lively debates can be settled by consulting local experts if the need arises.
