Dr. Scott T. Chapman recieved his BS from Wake Forest University in 1981, his MS from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1984, and his PhD from the University of North Texas in 1987. Upon graduation, he joined the mathematics faculty at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, where he is now a full professor. Dr. Chapman specializes in problems related to non-unique factorization and is the author of more than 65 research articles. Since 2000, he has directed Trinity University's highly successful REU program. Dr. Chapman has lectured at many conferences throughout the United States and abroad and is currently an Assciate Editor of the American Mathematical Monthly.
