(The Junior Colloquium is aimed primarily at undergraduate students, but all are most welcome to attend.)

TIME: 3:30 p.m.
ROOM: Ayres Hall 214
SPEAKER: Dr. S. Mulay
TITLE: Algebraic Parameterization
ABSTRACT: In studying geometric objects such as curves, surfaces etc. it is helpful to find ways to parameterize them, if at all it is possible to find a desirable parameterization. In this talk we consider the question of parameterizing curves, surfaces etc. defined by polynomial equations. Our desired parameterizations are by rational or by polynomial functions.

Pizza will be served immediately before the talk.
