ANALYSIS SEMINAR
TIME: 3:35 p.m.
ROOM: AC 113A
SPEAKER: Mr. Jay Wilkins
TITLE: "Analysis on Resistance Metric Spaces"
ABSTRACT: In a continuation from last time, I will talk more about resistance metrics on sets that are not necessarily finite. I will give an example of a resistance metric on a fractal, the Sierpinski Gasket, showing how it is built up through finite set approximations. I will then give a cursory overview of some general harmonic analysis on resistance metric spaces, showing, in particular, how one defines a Laplacian operator and what its natural domain should be.
