Calculus, Concepts & Contents, third edition, Thomson, Brooks/Cole.
Calculator: A graphing calculator is required for this course. The Math Department
highly recommends and provides support for the TI-83+ and TI-84+ models. While other calculators
may be used with your instructor’s permission,instructors and tutorial center staff may not be able to
provide help on how to use them. Use of cell phone calculators and calculators with advanced alpha-numeric
capabilities, such as the TI-89, is forbidden in this course.
Drop/Add Info:The deadlines for undergraduate students to drop without a W, with a W or with a
WP/WF grade are August 29, October 21 and November 11, respectively. Students receiving financial aid
may need to receive approval from the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships before withdrawing
from the course.
Any student who feels s/he may need an accommodation based on the impact of a disability should

Grades: Grades will be determined using the grading scale below. Your letter grade is a
measure of your mastery of course material and your fulfillment of course objectives. The "Quizzes"
category will consist of 12 quizzes of which two will be dropped. Each quiz is worth 10 points.

Attendance & Make-up Policy:
You will have one (1) week to schedule a make-up exam. Since you will have longer to prepare for
this make-up, your exam will be different. Note; for exam four, no make-up can be given
during the last five (5) calendar days of the semester.
If a make-up is not scheduled within a week of the date given, a zero (0) is recorded for that exam.
Responsibility of students: lecture material and distributed notes and homework
and text book content.
